There is something about the night sky that has always fascinated me. All those stars twinkling all night. The seasonal change of summer and winter constellations. I remember as a kid growing up looking at Orion's belt and seeing the great nebula. Being able to see Halley's comet in 1986, I had a small telescope when Comet Hyakutake appeared in 1996 and then the great Hale-Bopp comet passed in 1997. I joined the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada in 2001 and have been a member ever since. I built a 8 inch Dobsonian telescope and currently have a Skywatcher refracting telescope (D 120mm F600mm) attached to a EQ5 GPS mount. Nowadays I dabble in astro photography, mostly doing wide field, star trails and moon shots. I now have a t-ring adapter so I can attach a SLR camera to the eyepiece and begin doing some deep sky shots. Look for some new videos to appear on my YouTube channel that focus on this.
